About Grooming Centre

Grooming Centre is a non-governmental organization (NGO) that was started in December 2006 and is registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) under Certificate Number CAC/IT/NO 24198. Its goal is to help the large number of economically active poor people in Nigeria who do small trades and microproductive activities but don’t have access to many financial services.

A group of microfinance professionals worked hard to make the Centre a reality. It will be a strong and growing organization that will help impoverished people get better access to financial services.  It is a membership-based group that carries out a radical action program by providing a variety of financial services right to its members’ doors.

Grooming Centre is a national organization with an international focus that works to get resources and provide financial services to impoverished entrepreneurs who don’t have access to traditional kinds of financial services.

The Centre is a functioning institution because it bases its services and operations on global best practices that were developed by ASA Bangladesh, a world leader in delivering microfinance services. These practices were brought to Nigeria through the UNDP-assisted MicroStart program.
