About 2026 World Bank Government Analytics Fellowship Program
The World Bank Government Analytics Fellowship Program is a revolutionary program created to close the gap between the enormous, but unused, data resources that governments possess and the possibility of increased public administration effectiveness through data-driven deliberation.
The Fellowship provides cutting-edge research and practical insights to improve government efficiency, drawing on knowledge from the Government Analytics Handbook and bolstered by World Bank specialists and scholars.
The Fellowship is a partnership between the Development Impact Group (DECDI), the Institute for Economic Development’s Institutions Global Department, University College London (UCL), and the World Bank’s Development Economics Vice-Presidency (DEC).
Key Features of the World Bank Government Analytics Fellowship
- The fellowship will include a combination of in-person training and in-service support from leading World Bank and University College London specialists to help establish a government analytics initiative.
- The fellowship lasts six months, with a concentrated full-time commitment during two weeks of in-person training in Washington, D.C., which includes the Public Institutions Conference and the Government Analytics course.

Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the Government Analytics Fellowship, candidates must:
- Can go to Washington, D.C. for in-person training sessions.
- Organizations nominate them (up to two fellows per organization).
- Working for central government institutions (including agencies).
- Mid-level managers or senior analysts (or equivalent) with the authority to lead a government analytics project.
- Capable of demonstrating prior tertiary-level study in statistics or quantitative methodologies.
- Proficient in English.
