About the 2025 NNPC–SNEPCo National University Scholarship Award
The 2025 NNPC – SNEPCo National University Scholarship Programme is being offered by the Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Limited (SNEPCo) on behalf of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited and its co-venture partners. The program is designed to enhance the academic abilities of young Nigerians and promote academic excellence.
Successful applicants will receive a yearly grant from the second year of their undergraduate degree program until the completion of their program. Eligible undergraduate students who are enrolled in National Universities Commission (NUC) accredited courses at public Nigerian universities are invited to submit an electronic application.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Applicants must satisfy the following requirements to be eligible for the NNPC–SNEPCo Scholarship Award
Be a citizen of Nigeria.
Currently, they are enrolled in a public Nigerian university that is accredited by the NUC and is in their second year of full-time study.
A minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.5 in a five-grade system or the equivalent in other grade systems is required. Additionally, the applicant must not be the recipient of any other scholarship from an entity in the oil and gas industry, whether it be national or international. Female candidates are strongly encouraged to submit applications.
Criteria For Selection
- Applicants are required to submit their applications via the scholarship portal no later than the specified deadline.
- The monitored computer-based examination will be extended to only those candidates who satisfy the eligibility requirements.
- Prior to the scholarship offer, only the top 10 candidates from each of the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory will be selected for academic verification.
- Falsified results will result in the disqualification of candidates.
- The scholarship award will be communicated to candidates who have satisfactorily met the aforementioned criteria.
- In order to maintain the award, all scholars must maintain a minimum of 3.5 CGPA per session in a 5-grade system or the equivalent in other grade systems.
