Job Role

The House Manager will be in charge of making sure that the dormitory runs smoothly every day and that the residents have a safe, clean, and comfortable place to live.  This entails managing housekeeping, catering, maintenance, and tenant relations, as well as making sure that residents’ cultural needs are met.

Key Responsibilities for House Manager at PalmPay

  • Take care of the dormitory’s everyday operations, such as housekeeping, catering, security, and general maintenance.
  • Make sure that all living areas are in great shape by scheduling repairs, maintenance work, and facility inspections.
  • Take care of dorm supplies like bedding, toiletries, and cleaning supplies.
  • Be the main point of contact for people living in the dorms, and deal with their problems quickly and properly.
  • Make sure that Chinese residents and local personnel can talk to each other easily, which will help them comprehend each other’s language and culture.
  • Set up and implement rules, regulations, and safety requirements for the dorms.
  • Overseas dormitories support workers like cooks, cleaners, and security guards.
  • Talk to outside suppliers for catering, laundry, pest control, and maintenance services.
  • Keep an eye on how well vendors are doing to make sure the service is good.
  • Make sure that health, safety, and hygiene standards are met.
  • Do safety drills and inspections on a regular basis.
  • Keep detailed records of who is living there, when maintenance is due, and any incidents that happen.
  • Make and keep track of the dormitory’s operational budgets.
  • Keep an eye on costs and make sure that operations are cost-effective without sacrificing quality.
  • Send management regular reports on the state of the dorm, any problems, and any improvements.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, hospitality management, facilities management, or a similar discipline.
  • 4 or more years of experience in managing properties, hotels, or staff accommodations.
  • It is very important that you have worked with Chinese expatriates or in a multicultural setting before.
  • Good at working with others and solving problems.
  • Ability to speak and write English well; being able to speak Mandarin is a big plus.
  • Knowing the rules on health, safety, and cleanliness.
  •  Good in organizing things and paying attention to the small things.
