Key Responsibilities of Internal Control Officer
- Adhere to the specifications of the internal control framework, charter, and manual in relation to the designated coverage areas.
- Adhere to the internal control manual and process specifications in their entirety.
- Assist in the ongoing development and revision of the internal control manual.
- Assist in the establishment of the internal control monitoring and enforcement processes and procedures that govern the internal control system’s operation.
- Confirm compliance with policies, processes, procedures, and other controls within the area of coverage on a regular basis and provide exception reports.
- Ensure that the observed or escalated exceptions are regularized within a reasonable timeframe by following up.
- Guarantee that deliberate noncompliance with critical policies, processes, procedures, or other controls is escalated in a suitable manner for disciplinary action.
- Identify process, policy, and procedural deficiencies in the areas of overage through routine reviews and provide appropriate recommendations to strengthen the system.
- Execute special evaluations as directed by Management within the designated timeframe.
- Ensure that Management receives timely and pertinent reports regarding the control monitoring activities in the coverage area.
- Conduct ad hoc investigations into incidents, complaints, and procedural breaches as assigned and submit a report of high quality within the designated timeframe.
- Ensure that the Quality Management System/Operational Health & System requirements, including objectives and applicable regulations, are met in relation to the assigned tasks.
- Execute any additional responsibilities that may be assigned by the Head of Internal Control or the Management.
Requirements
A first-degree or equivalent in a field of social science or science.
2 years of post-qualification work experience in a relevant sector in an internal control or related function.
A distinct advantage will be achieved by making progress in professional certifications such as ACA, ACCA, and CIA.
