Job Description 

  • The Financial Planning & Reporting Manager is accountable for the supervision of the company’s financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes.  
  • The position guarantees that financial analysis is conducted in a timely and accurate manner to facilitate strategic decision-making.  
  • The position entails the coordination of cross-functional teams to collect data, the preparation of exhaustive financial reports, the analysis of variances, and the provision of insights to senior management.  
  • The Manager also ensures that financial processes and reporting systems are continuously improved by promoting compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.

Responsibilities of Financial Planning and Reporting Manager

  • Collaborating with the Financial Control (FC) to establish, revise, and execute financial and accounting policies, procedures, and strategies throughout the Group
  • Assisting in the creation of the Group’s annual plans, budgets, forecasts, and financial performance metrics to effectively direct business operations and strategy execution 
  • Collaborating with the FC to establish company-wide standards for systems, data, and processes.  Formulate, revise, and supervise the implementation of finance standard operating procedures (SOPs) throughout the organization. 
  •  Developing and supervising the implementation of a competent accounting framework in accordance with tax and other statutory regulations 
  • The establishment and preservation of reliable financial controls throughout the organization’s operations 
  • Coordinating the accurate recording of financial transactions and the consolidation of the company’s accounts from all business divisions and functions 
  • Accurate, comprehensive, and timely financial and management information, such as tax, cash flow, management accounts, and other statutory accounts, is prepared. 
  • Overseeing the preparation of the organization’s financial statements 
  • Overseeing the statutory reporting process, which includes the establishment of timetables and the provision of guidelines to operational finance teams throughout the Group.  This involves assisting with the annual review procedure and the year-end Group accounts. 
  • Collaborating with finance teams to guarantee that intra-group balances are consistently reconciled and that variances are thoroughly investigated and resolved. 
  • Fostering ongoing communication with pertinent external entities, including regulatory organizations, auditors, solicitors, and banks. 
  • Creating “Letters of Credit” for approval and submitting them to the bank to expedite the importation of products 
  • Supervising the computation and remittance of taxes, insurance premiums, and other statutory fees 
  • Offering technical training, guidance, and advice on financial accounting trends, developments, and issues 
  •  Reviewing weekly reports submitted by a variety of departments and functional units and presenting them to the FC in a timely manner. 
  • Assisting the FO in the administration and control of financial risks 
  • Guaranteeing that all HSE policies and procedures are strictly adhered to, and that secure work methods are implemented as necessary. 
  •  Executing any other responsibilities that may be assigned by the supervisor or line manager

What are we seeking?

  • A professional qualification from ICAN or ACCA, in addition to a B.Sc. or HND in any discipline.
  •  8 to 10 years of experience in the Accounts/Finance function
