Job Description
The person who is successful as an electrician will be a highly skilled professional who has demonstrated knowledge in three-phase electrical systems and who ideally has previous experience working in the mining industry. The individual who is chosen for the position will be in charge of installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical infrastructure at all of our industrial and mining operations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and restorations of electrical systems, with a particular emphasis on three-phase operations.
By identifying the underlying causes and implementing effective solutions, electrical faults can be diagnosed and resolved.
Ensure that high-voltage electrical systems are handled and maintained in strict adherence to regulatory requirements and safety guidelines.
Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to guarantee the safety and seamless operation of electrical systems.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance strategies to optimize equipment reliability and minimize disruption.
Requirements
Qualifications and Requirements
- A minimum of three to four years of demonstrated experience as an Industrial Electrician, with a preference for large industrial or mining environments.
- Detailed comprehension of 3-phase electrical systems, including circuit diagnostics and troubleshooting.
- Solid understanding of pertinent electrical codes, standards, and safety frameworks (e.g., OSHA, NEC).
- The physical capacity to operate in a variety of environmental contexts, including confined spaces, heights, and other challenging conditions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- The capacity to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, as well as effective communication skills.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with mining-specific electrical systems or prior experience in the mining industry.
- Journeyman Electrician or equivalent professional certification in electrical work.
- Practical experience with SCADA systems, PLCs, or other industrial control systems.
