The Ruth Titilayo Educational Foundation is happy to announce the availability of a scholarship, which will be granted to applicants who have been shortlisted and are currently enrolled in a Federal University or State University in Nigeria.
The grant will cover all of your expenses, or it may simply make a modest yet helpful contribution to the academic lives of undergraduates.

About Ruth Titilayo Foundation
Iya Taiwo, also known as Ruth Titilayo, was born in 1952. She received her education at Abeokuta Girls Grammar School and the University of Ibadan, both located in Nigeria. It was clear that she had a strong interest in learning.
Furthermore, she was much more enthusiastic about assisting those who were less fortunate. It is only logical that the Ruth Titilayo Foundation would be established on the 20th anniversary of her passing at the age of fifty, given the two passions that she had.
The Ruth Titilayo Foundation is dedicated to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to access quality education, irrespective of their origin or circumstances. We are of the opinion that education is a fundamental human right and that every child should have the chance to realize their utmost potential. Our ultimate objective is to establish a world in which our services are no longer required and where every child has access to a high-quality education without any obstacles.
Eligibility Criteria
All applicants must meet with these requirements to be eligible for selection
- Candidates must be domiciled in Nigeria.
- Candidates must be under the age of 25.
- Candidates must be a student at the time of application or have been registered as a student within the last three years.
- Candidates must have obtained a minimum GPA of 4.0 in a 5-point system (or equivalent GPA if not based on a 5-point scale).
- Final year undergraduates are also eligible for the Ruth Titilayo Foundation Undergraduate scholarship.
Benefits of the Undergraduate Scholarship
The grant that would be awarded to selected candidates will cover expenses such as:
- tuition allowance up to #100,000
- maintenance allowance up to #20,000
- Further allowances – for example internal travel costs associated with the course of study or research and fieldwork expenses – are paid at the discretion of the committee.
Candidate assessment (Selection Process)
Candidates that applied for the Ruth Titilayo Undergraduate Scholarship 2026 will be assessed:
- on academic merit.
- based on the information provided in your scholarship application.
If you are shortlisted, you will be invited for an online interview where you will be asked a series of competency based questions related to your current year group.

If you are successful, you will be required to submit copies of your most recent school results, two letters of recommendation from your tutors, a personal statement, and any other papers that may be associated with your application.
Note:
- From the first of October 2025 until the last day of October 2025, the application window will be open.
- Those candidates who have been shortlisted will be contacted beginning on November 11th, 2025.
- Immediately after this, there will be an interview in December 2025, and scholarship grants will be given to the candidates who are successful.
