Job Role

The Customer Supply Chain Manager is accountable for the Customer Supply Chain (CSC) of Nigeria Opco.  S/He is accountable for the translation of the Planning and Logistic Global Supply Chain strategy into business requirements and its implementation.  S/He is the leader of the FU Team, which includes Logistics, Warehouse, Customer Service, and Complaint Management.  In charge of inventory and its influence on working capital, customer collaboration and satisfaction, and service.  Drives optimization (Service / Inventory / Margin / Profit) in accordance with the established KPI.

Requirements/Qualification

Education

  • Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management or related field. · Work experience.
  •  5-10 years running regionally or nationally  Plan and deliver leadership roles in a matrix organization.
  • Demonstrated and recognized expertise in the following SC pillars  Customer Support, Complaint Management, Warehouse and Logistics
  • Additional demonstrated and acknowledged practical expertise in at least one of the following areas:  Demand and supply planning, control, sales, marketing, quality assurance, procurement

Key accountabilities for Customer Supply Chain Manager

  • The Customer Supply Chain Strategy contributes to the Cluster Market strategy and implements the Global SCC Strategy inside the cluster.
  • Contributes to market strategic planning by defining, implementing, and optimizing the route to market (supply) strategy.

 · S&OP process criteria for continuous improvement:

  • Takes leadership of the S&OP process and leads at the BG level, striving for effective execution, clear decision-making, and favorable business results.
  • Drives the execution of the S&OP strategy and procedure according to RFC standards, supporting and facilitating the financial forecasting process.
  • Ensures adherence and continual improvement in the execution of S&OP processes, standards, and procedures in accordance with the RFC standard
  • Determines targets and ensures performance in terms of S&OP activities (KPI set).

 · Leads Demand Planning cycles and engages with Sales, Marketing, and Customers to ensure high forecast accuracy and low bias.

  • Create and implement a strategy for the Demand Department to improve demand excellence.
  • Define the strategy for new business initiatives by analyzing market trends and transforming information into departmental strategies.
  • Act as the key point of contact for the commercial organisation in terms of operational and tactical planning, as well as monitoring, assessing, and questioning the quality of BG demand plans.
  • Provide support and supervision for volume tender procedures and projects as needed.

 · Commercialization and Product Portfolio Management (product development and phase-in/out):

  • Leads the BG SC’s Innovation Process Management (IPM).
  • Drives product portfolio management according to existing processes (portfolio review, complexity management, NPD), problems in range offering, and profitability.
  • Coordinates NPD according to the IPM process in order to deliver NPD according to the BG Launch Plans and contribute to global IPM.
  • Set the objective, goals, deliverables, approach, and way of working of the CSC program(s) for the relevant business groups.
  • Create strategic and operational plans for the workgroup, manage execution, and measure outcomes.
  • Provide knowledge, insight, or feedback to help design program(s) and project management approaches, standards, tools, and training.
  • Create support for the entire project approach and proactively manage, inform, influence, and support the many stakeholders.

· Supply Chain Planning Network.

  • Manage the team in charge of preparing and optimizing operational and tactical planning for the global supply network (internal and external capacity) by balancing demand, inventory, production, and packaging capacity, identifying constraints and opportunities as input for S&OP, and obtaining agreement from the assigned supply points on the supply plan (tactical, operational, and day-to-day (local) execution).
  • Responsibilities include production planning, (raw) material planning, scheduling, and intra-supply planning.
  • Provide the supply points with a realistic and attainable strategy in accordance with the established rules and limits.
  • Create a consistent milk allocation plan for all factories.
  • Discuss yearly maintenance plans with the plants.

 · The FU’s S&OP process is aligned with other CSCs, BG, Enterprise S&OP, third-party suppliers, and milk allocation.

  • Drive the implementation of the S&OP process (operational and tactical horizon), plan all meetings according to RFC standards, and support and facilitate the financial forecasting process.
  • Create decision-making scenarios by balancing demand and supply optimally in terms of volume, revenue, expenses, and margin.
  • Provide procurement, supply points, and deliver departments with production plans in accordance with service levels, inventory, production, and MVA criteria, targets, and guidelines
  • Provide the FU with authorized plans for meeting demand.
  • Report aggregated performance to the BG executive team and relevant business partners.
  • Prepare scenario decision documents for the S&OP process.  Lead the supply review process, chair the supply review meeting, and prepare for and participate in the pre-S&OP process.
  • Optimize and implement modifications to the S&OP’s supply network in accordance with aims and recommendations (with an emphasis on OTIF and EBIT improvement), while also recognizing the impact on networked supply points.  Manage supply planning resources (capacity, crucial materials, human resources) and strategy for the S&OP.

 · Supply FU.

  • Develop the strategy for the allocated planning department and contribute to the formulation of the strategy at a higher level.
  • Manage service on time and completely for the markets in scope.
  • Manage waste performance across the MEPA scope and CSC network, as well as target inventory levels for complete replacement.
  • Collaborate constructively with relevant internal and external stakeholders and partners.

 · Customer Service and Logistics Account Management

  • Manages a customer-centric, organized team.
  • Manages and improves customer operations, including order intake, logistics, customer service, returns, and complaint management.
  • Initiates and drives customer-centric SC improvement projects.

 • Warehousing & Logistics (Distribution)

  • Manages warehouses (RFC and third-party) within her/his remit, maintaining a secure and healthy environment and facilitating On Time In Full delivery to customers.
  • Ensures timely delivery to customers by orchestrating the agreed-upon Cluster logistic set-up.  controls transportation planning, trucks and shipping businesses, invoices and credit notes, exports, documentation, and so on.
  • Encourages continual improvement with LSPs to improve service, route to market, and cost to serve.

  • Inventory and working capital management.

  • Defines and implements inventory and replenishment targets, including inventory segmentation.
  • Manage the inventory team and ensure that inventory meets predicted demand (correct DIO for RM, PM, WIP, and FG).
  • Manage and optimize working capital in accordance with inventory management guidelines, replenish relevant warehouses (in accordance with targets), monitor aging stock and obsoletes, and reach agreement with demand, source, and delivery.
  • Customer Operations and Logistics Process Parameters (KPI – Reporting)
  • Determines targets and ensures the realization of performance in terms of cost, quality, and performance for customer operations and logistics.
  • Ensures that the appropriate plan parameters and required master data are up to date, well-configured, and reviewed on a regular basis to reflect market requirements.

 · Complaint Management for Sales

  • Receives customer quality concerns through FU Customer Service and coordinates with stakeholders to implement remedial and preventive actions based on the Operating Company Crisis Team (OCCT) guidelines.
  • Project management (supply chain, cross-functional).
  •  Initiates and leads improvement projects that are fully aligned with the BG Food & Beverage and FU SC strategy.

 · KPIs, Continuous Improvement, and Management Information

  • Observe and assess bottlenecks, as well as identify opportunities and actions for improvement in supply chain-related (work) processes, planning systems, procedures, and/or systems, and ensure that improvements are implemented following approval.
  • Provide KPI dashboards, insights, and decision papers on quantitative and qualitative changes upon request or on their own initiative through periodic (S&OP, budget, RF, and LRP) and ad hoc reports and/or studies, in accordance with reporting rules.

 • Project Management

  •  Lead and lead tactical and strategic projects in your own domain, across BG (including milk allocation), and across functional lines with high complexity.
  •  Lead and be the principle in complicated CAPEX investment cases within your own network.

 · Human Resource Management and Team Development

  •  Develops and leads a successful and impactful cluster.  SC Team: recruits, coaches, develops, appraises, rewards, counsels, and terminates in accordance with the RFC HR Policies and Standards.
