What is the UBA National Essay Competition?
The UBA National Essay Competition (NEC) is an annual initiative of the UBA Foundation, the corporate social responsibility subsidiary of United Bank for Africa Plc.
It is designed to foster healthy academic competition and promote literacy among secondary school students in Nigeria.
The top three winners of the competition are granted scholarships to attend any university in Africa of their choosing. The competition is accessible to senior secondary school students (SS1–SS3) throughout the nation.
National Essay Competition 2025 aims to promote the reading culture and encourage healthy and intellectual competition amongst secondary school students in Nigeria and across Africa.
The UBA Foundation’s education initiative, which aims to promote the reading culture and encourage healthy and intellectual competition among secondary school students in Nigeria and across Africa, includes the annual National Essay Competition.
