About Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB
In 2010, President Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan established the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) after the Nigerian Content (NC) act was signed into law on 22nd April.
NOGIC JQS was created in accordance with section 55 of the act which states that the board shall establish, maintain and operate a joint qualification system (JQS) in consultation with industry stakeholders. This system is to be administered in accordance with the provisions set out in the regulations, to be made by the Minister and in accordance with the provisions of this Act.
Section 56 of the Act states that the JQS shall constitute an industry database of available capabilities and shall be used as the sole system for Nigerian Content registration and pre-qualification of contractors in the industry.
This includes verification of contractors’ capacities and capabilities, evaluation of application of Nigerian Content in the operations of oil companies and contractors, a database for a national skills development pool, and the ranking and categorization of oil service companies based on capabilities and Nigerian Content.
About the Program
The NCDMB Oil and Gas Field Readiness Training Program is a component of the Board’s Human Capacity Development Initiative. It seeks to close the skills gap between academic knowledge and industrial requirements, making learners “field-ready” for immediate employment or entrepreneurial opportunities in the oil and gas value chain.
This program focuses on:
- Technical training for key oil and gas operations
- Health, Safety, and the Environment (HSE) certification
- Soft skills and employability enhancement
- Entrepreneurship and Leadership Development
Participants gain hands-on experience using cutting-edge equipment and simulation facilities thanks to relationships with recognized training providers and industry stakeholders.

- Participants must be under the age of 35 and hold an OND / NID / BSc degree in Engineering, Science, Technology, or a related area.
Program Duration: Minimum of 12 months, while some will be for longer durations.
