Job Summary:
- We need a Blasting Helper to work with us at Dangote Cement Plc. As a Blasting Helper, your job will be to help fill blast holes with explosives and set off explosives to break apart limestone and rock.
- You will make sure that explosives and their accessories are stored and handled correctly, and you will also observe safety rules to keep the workplace safe.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in manually putting explosives in blast holes or direct the passage of bulk explosives vehicles to load holes.
- Assemble priming charges with specified detonators, fuses, detonating cords, and other supplies.
- Handle, store, and transport explosives and accessories in compliance with rules.
- Ensure good fragmentation through effective stemming and connecting at all times.
- Follow safety measures to ensure that safety regulations are followed.
- Perform any other chores assigned by the Blaster.
Requirements
- A Secondary School Certificate.
- Requirements include at least two years of experience in blasting or mining activities, as well as knowledge of explosives regulations.
- Ability to adhere to safety rules and keep a safe working environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
