Job Overview

  • The Logistics Officer/Driver shall be responsible for guaranteeing the safe, efficient, and dependable transportation of project personnel and assets within Kano State.
  • This role will also deliver vital administrative and logistical assistance to the project team, guaranteeing that field operations are effectively coordinated and that office supplies and inventory are properly managed.

Primary Duties

  • Coordinate the deployment of project personnel and assets to all specified locations, including remote LGAs and PHC facilities within Kano State.
  • Perform daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, document maintenance requirements, and supervise routine servicing.
  • Precisely preserve all vehicle documentation, including excursion logbooks, odometer readings, and fuel consumption records.
  • Deliver practical logistical assistance for project field operations, encompassing the preparation, transportation, and installation of training materials and equipment.
  • Carry out essential official duties, including the delivery and collection of confidential documents and materials from government offices and partners.
  • Assist with small-scale local procurement procedures, including soliciting quotations and executing purchase deliveries.
  • Assist the Administrative team in overseeing and monitoring project inventory, supplies, and minor assets

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of a Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSCE).  A genuine Nigerian commercial or professional driver’s license is required.
  • A minimum of five years of professional driving experience, preferably with an international NGO, donor-funded initiative, or esteemed organization.
  • Extensive experience navigating difficult highways, particularly within the Local Government Areas of Kano State.
  • Proven experience in a logistics, administrative, or field support capacity is highly advantageous.
  • Understanding of fundamental vehicle mechanics for standard maintenance and diagnostic procedures.
  • A fundamental proficiency in written and spoken English, coupled with a high level of fluency in Hausa, is essential.
