Job Overview

  • The Senior Analyst – M&E will function as the principal resource for data administration, quality assurance, and fundamental performance visualization within the Kano Health Systems Strengthening (HSS) Project.
  • This role is responsible for maintaining the consistency and integrity of all project data gathered from the State, LGAs, and Health Facilities.
  • The Analyst will concentrate on converting raw data into actionable insights for the technical team and assist the MERL team with routine reporting and the monitoring of project indicators.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the regular cleansing, verification, and validation of all project data inputs, including facility assessment data, training records, and HRH/PFM monitoring data.
  • Perform regular Data Quality Assessments (DQAs) at the State and Local Government Area (LGA) levels to verify data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness, thereby supporting the project’s requirement for dependable evidence.
  • Assist in the development of data briefs and presentations for senior-level State stakeholder meetings.
  • Deliver practical, hands-on instruction and training to subordinate personnel or government counterparts on fundamental data entry, quality assurance, and reporting protocols.
  • Facilitate the documentation of project procedures and insights by systematically compiling field notes, meeting minutes, and stakeholder feedback.

Qualifications and Professional Experience

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Public Health, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  •  A minimum of 2 to 4 years of demonstrated expertise in a data analysis, monitoring, or statistical support capacity, ideally within the healthcare industry.
  •  Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  •  Proficiency in routine health information systems (HMIS, DHIS2) is considered an advantage.
  •  Exceptional proficiency in both written and verbal communication.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Meticulous attention to detail and a rigorous commitment to data accuracy and reliability.
  • Excellent logical and analytical abilities to detect and resolve data discrepancies and reporting inaccuracies.
  • Ability to effectively articulate data requirements and errors to field personnel and offer practical coaching.
  • Proficiency in Hausa is crucial for the effective execution of communication during field data verification visits.
