Job Purpose / Summary

  • The Account Payable Manager at Dangote Cement Plc is responsible for facilitating and managing the entire Accounts Payable process for all domestic and offshore vendors.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervision and inspection of supplier invoices and accompanying documents against the invoice processing checklist to ensure completeness, validity of details, and 3 – way match in accordance with Company policy.
  • Supervise invoice reconciliation to ensure 100% accuracy and keep a tracker for future inspection.
  • Ensure that all vendors are reconciled prior to payment, as well as a periodic month-end reconciliation.
  • Ensure that GRIR/SRIR is maintained within 30 days.
  • Maintain registers for papers entering and exiting the unit to ensure effective document tracking.
  • Keep track of all payment vouchers to verify compliance with the company’s rules and relevant legislation.
  • Ensure that vendors are paid within 48 working hours after receiving completed documents.
  • Prepare weekly payment schedules and transmit them to the Deputy Head of Finance for evaluation.

 Requirements

  •  Bachelor’s degree in accounting, economics, or a similar field.
  • Relevant professional credential (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CFA).
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of related job experience.
  • Excellent awareness of cement production sector trends, issues, opportunities, regulations, and legislation.
  • Excellent finance and accounting skills, particularly experience with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Excellent data analysis and modelling skills.
  • Good problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong business acumen.
