About Sun King
Sun King is the world’s foremost off-grid solar energy company, utilizing state-of-the-art product design, fintech, and field operations to provide energy access to the 1.8 billion individuals who lack a reliable and affordable electric-grid connection. Sun King has connected over 20 million households to solar power in Africa and Asia, with an additional 200,000 homes being added each month.
Sun King provides low-income households and enterprises with solar products that are affordable through “pay-as-you-go” purchase financing. A nominal deposit is required by consumers prior to the installation of solar panels by Sun King.
Customers then make small, manageable payments of as little as US $0.11 per day via mobile money or currency.
Customers access solar power to generate savings and, after one to two years of payments, they own their solar equipment outright, rather than paying for expensive, polluting, and health-damaging kerosene for lighting or diesel for power.
Our Sun King solar products have cumulatively saved consumers over $4 billion to date.
