Job Description
PalmPay is seeking an experienced Inventory Management Officer who will be accountable for the administration of the organization’s policies and procedures in order to oversee and control PalmPay’s assets, which include vehicles, equipment, plants, and properties. Oversees the status and costs of asset lifecycles, inventories, locations, and replacements.
Key Roles And Responsibilities of Asset Management Specialist
- Create an organizational philosophy for the complete management and accounting of PalmPay’s assets. Coordinate the processes and documentation for new asset procurement, disposal, replacement, and tracking of lost or stolen assets.
- Conduct regular audits, spot inspections, and physical verification counting to verify compliance with asset regulatory regulations and legislation.
- Maintain an active depreciation schedule to ensure that the asset’s book value is regularly updated and that the proper taxes are applied and paid. Collaborate with vendors and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and full asset data.
- Create and install an asset management system, and ensure that all assets are appropriately classified and recorded in the SAP system.
- Create and implement a yearly asset verification and audit plan.
- Liaise with end users to ensure that licenses (where applicable), normal maintenance schedules, and strategies are linked into SAP and carefully adhered to.
- Liaise with Line Managers to ensure asset written-offs are correctly disposed of and the impact is remediated.
- Track warranties on all PalmPay assets, ensuring that they are executed properly, and warehouse all other necessary items, such as operating manuals, extra keys, etc., allowing access as needed.
-  Provide management with an asset utility report that includes recommendations on remaining asset life, maintenance and replacement costs, and so on. Provide general advice to PalmPay executives on asset procurement and management.
- Prepare frequent asset updates for management and the leadership team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a similar subject.
- At least two years of expertise in inventory and asset management for a financial institution or fintech.
