Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced driller to join our Dangote Cement Okpella Plant team. As a Driller, you will be in charge of operating drilling equipment to create blast holes in open-pit mines or quarries. You will oversee the safe and effective operation of the drilling machines, follow safety protocols, and meet target penetration rates.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Use drilling machinery to create blast holes in open-pit mines or quarries.
- Conduct pre-start checks to determine maintenance or repair needed.
- Ensure the safe and reliable operation of the drilling equipment.
- Examine and maintain drill bits, rods, and other drilling instruments.
- Participate in blasting tasks, such as collecting drilling samples and loading explosives.
- Collaborate with maintenance personnel on equipment maintenance and repair.
- Complete all required documents, such as performance sheets and logbooks.
- Meet safety and environmental criteria.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Requirements: At least 3 years of experience operating drilling equipment, as well as knowledge of drilling procedures and equipment.
- Capability to read and understand technical manuals and papers
- Excellent attention to detail and safety awareness.
