The 2005 draft Health Promotion Policy by the Federal Ministry of Health of Nigeria constitutes the next step in the country’s health sector reforms. During the ongoing reforms in the health sector, the focus of the policy is to deal with the current prevailing problems in the health sector by encouraging healthy lifestyle choices, community activism and advocacy, and modification of behaviors.
