Job Purpose / Summary

  • We are seeking a committed Finance Officer responsible for overseeing the organization’s financial operations to uphold the highest standards of financial integrity and compliance.  
  • The Finance Officer will be responsible for managing daily financial operations, ensuring precise financial record-keeping, and assisting with budgeting and reporting procedures.  
  • The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent analytical abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and the capacity to collaborate effectively within a team setting.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage daily financial transactions, such as accounts payable and receivable, cash flow, and reconciliations.
  • Prepare and analyse financial statements, reports, and predictions to help management make decisions.
  • Maintain compliance with financial legislation, corporate policy, and accounting standards.
  • Assist with budget development and expenditure monitoring to ensure that authorised budgets are met.
  •  Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions and assist with internal and external audits.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial advise and help achieve operational goals.
  • Perform any additional duties assigned by supervisors or management.
  • Ensure complete compliance with business finance policies and procedures.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Sectional Heads.

 Requirements

 Education and Professional Experience

  •  A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a similar discipline.
  •  Professional certifications such as ACA, ACCA, or CPA are advantageous.
  •  A minimum of five (5) years of advanced experience in financial or accounting positions.

 Skills & Competencies

  •  Excellent understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
  •  Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel).
  •  Excellent analytic and problem-solving abilities.
  •  Strong attention to detail and organisation skills.
  •  Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  •  Ability to operate efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting.
  •  Integrity and the capacity to handle personal material discreetly.
  •  Teamwork skills
