About MTN Foundation Y’ellopreneur initiative (2026)
The MTN Y’ellopreneur Initiative is an empowerment program for women that aims to lower unemployment and encourage sustainable development via entrepreneurship. The program, which is run by the MTN Foundation, gives Nigerian women entrepreneurs access to capital and capacity building.
The program has had a big influence since it started:
5,754 female business owners received training in business management and entrepreneurship.
Over ₦301 million in equipment loans were given to 122 beneficiaries, assisting them in growing their enterprises.
The initiative has advanced significantly in its third phase. A ₦1 billion Matching Fund Model is being implemented by the MTN Foundation in partnership with Bank of Industry Limited. With the help of this funding arrangement, more women-owned businesses will be able to expand and prosper.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be a female entrepreneur in Nigeria
- Must own a business that has been operating for at least 2 years
- Business should fall within sectors like:
- Agriculture / Processing
- Manufacturing
- ICT / Digital services
- Waste management / Circular economy
- Preference for businesses using locally sourced raw materials
