Job Purpose

Increase profitability based on established targets for West African stores, improve overall customer happiness, and boost employee competence, productivity, and motivation.

Core Responsibilities and Key Result Areas

Strategic Operations Leadership

Oversee all areas of day-to-day operations for the restaurants in the region.
Conduct restaurant visits (including pre-opening, peak-time preparedness, and closing checks).
Ensure effective P&L management by conducting extensive analysis and reviews with all levels of management in the region.
Deliver continuous improvement initiatives that result in service excellence and profit development through cost control for the Region.
Execute all local store marketing activities in the region.
Execute the successful opening of all new stores in the region.
Analyse and review all store operations procedures to build an acceptable plan for the region.
Deliver and implement client satisfaction throughout the region.
Maintain high levels of productivity and quality while minimising waste.
Relate with all support divisions to handle and address issues that affect operations in the region.
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations as required.
Accountable for all operational, personnel, and financial performance for the region.

Performance Management

Assume responsibility for managing regional P&L spending according to budget
Review each restaurant/area’s performance on sales indicators and provide clear communication about daily objectives and targets.
Conduct performance evaluation based on agreed-upon KPIs with Area Managers.
Provide mentoring and support to all region and Restaurant Managers to achieve the stated KPIs for each store and region.
Review the Individual Development Plan with Area Managers.
Review the Area Managers’ monthly calendar and action plan. Completes the regional action plan and calendar for each month.
Follow up and participate in the Omega selection (International Development).

People Management

Develop and implement training sessions on operational processes for Area Managers and Restaurant Managers to boost their capabilities.
Conduct recruitment and selection interviews for restaurant managers and area managers.
Responsibilities include enforcing employment laws in the region, ensuring staff work quality, and implementing HR policies to ensure employee happiness.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Divisional Director (Operations).

Meetings and Presentations

Attend the weekly project meeting.
Develop regional performance presentations and weekly sales forecasts.
Conduct technical sessions with the Area Managers.
Conduct weekly meetings with Area Managers to review performance against stated targets.
Conduct monthly reviews of all store performance (people, financial, and operational).
Collaborate with the HR Manager (Senior Manager) on Employee Development, Employee Resourcing, Employee Relations, and Performance Appraisals/Comp and Benefits for the Region team.
Present the monthly regional performance to the Executive Team.

Achievement of Company Sales, EBITDA, GP, and PAT objectives
Achievement of the Operations Division’s budget, targets, and objectives

Knowledge requirements

Deep expertise of the QSR and food industry.
Knowledge of methods, techniques, or procedures specific to the QSR industry
A comprehensive understanding of the key processes of Fast Moving Goods
Solid understanding of the macroeconomic and financial system
Knowledge of People Management
Administrative and managerial ability
Leadership and management talents
Very Good Communication Skills
Strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to make decisions, plan actions, and prioritise tasks.
Understanding of safety, quality, and cost objectives.

Educational Requirements

A good first degree in business administration or related areas
Possession of a Master’s degree in Business Administration or related degree is an added advantage

Professional Requirements

Membership of the Nigerian Institute of Management and other relevant certification

Experience Requirements

Minimum of 8 years work experience in a similar role / industry (QSR / FMCG)

Working Conditions

Job role holders normally work 50 hours per week, Monday through Sunday, with the possibility of working extra hours on weekends and evenings due to the fast-paced atmosphere.
This position entails frequent travel to regional/branch offices throughout the country. Because of the nature of the allocated roles and responsibilities, the individual in this function is expected to have strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
