About Ruth Titilayo Foundation
Ruth Titilayo (Iya Taiwo) was born in 1952 and attended the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, as well as Abeokuta Girls Grammar School. She was exceedingly enthusiastic about education. She was even more enthusiastic about assisting the underprivileged.
The Ruth Titilayo Foundation was established on the 20th anniversary of her death at the age of 50, as it was only natural for these two passions to unite.
The Ruth Titilayo Foundation is dedicated to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to access quality education, irrespective of their origin or circumstances. We are of the opinion that education is a fundamental human right and that every child should have the chance to realize their utmost potential.
Our ultimate objective is to establish a world in which our services are no longer required and where every child has access to a high-quality education without any obstacles.
We are dedicated to ensuring that the most disadvantaged communities have access to quality education until that day arrives. We are fervently committed to our mission and committed to fostering a positive global impact.

Who can Apply
To be eligible for the Ruth Titilayo Postgraduate Scholarship, you must be able to satisfy the following requirements
- Possess an undergraduate degree with a grade of 2:1 or higher.
- The applicant must possess a degree from a Nigerian institution, which may be either their undergraduate degree or a subsequent degree.
- Either be enrolled as a student at the time of application or have been registered as a student within the past five years.
Additional Requirement
- be pursuing a Masters degree (or an equivalent postgraduate qualification) in addition to conducting professional research or gaining work experience.
- These requirements are not essential; however, they will improve your application.
- The Ruth Titilayo Foundation Postgraduate grant is not available to final-year undergraduates.
Benefits
The grant is composed of the following:
- Up to #100,000 in tuition allowance
- Maintenance allowance of up to #20,000
Additional allowances, such as internal travel costs associated with the course of study or research and fieldwork expenses, are awarded at the Committee’s discretion.
Evaluation of candidates
Candidates will undergo evaluations:
- based on the information supplied in your scholarship application.
- Shortlisted candidates will be invited to participate in an online interview, during which they will be asked a succession of competency-based questions that are pertinent to their current year group.

Note:
The application window will run from 1st October 2025 to 31st October 2025. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted from the 11th November 2025. This will be followed by an interview in December 2025 and scholarship awards to successful candidates.
