About the Treasury Summer Internship
From May 26 to August 3, 2026, Treasury Summer Interns will work full-time in Washington, DC. The program starts with a week of personalised onboarding. After that, interns switch teams every three weeks, working with three different Treasury teams.
Interns talk to the program director once a week and go to technical and career-focused workshops with Treasury officers, managers, and directors all summer long.
They can also meet the Vice President and Treasurer and talk to the Treasury team, which has about 300 members.
At the end of each rotation, the intern gives a presentation to the team, and at the end of the internship, they give a capstone project presentation to the Treasury management team.

Interns Compensation and Benefits
Interns are compensated at a rate of $21.80 per hour (net) for non-US citizens and $26.20 per hour (gross) for US citizens for a total of 400 hours.
This compensation is issued on a short-term, impermanent basis. It is anticipated that all apprentices will be present in Washington, DC, full-time, for the duration of the internship, which spans from May 26 to August 3. Interns are anticipated to work at least four days in the office per week, although HR policies are subject to change.
At the commencement of the apprenticeship, each intern will be provided with a laptop from the World Bank.
If necessary, the World Bank provides the necessary visa for an intern to work in the United States.
How to become a Treasury Junior Analyst
- Upon successful completion of their internships, the World Bank Treasury may extend offers to certain Treasury Summer Interns.
- Applications for Junior Analyst positions will be available at the conclusion of the summer internship and are subject to a competitive selection process.
- Candidates who have completed the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree between December 2026 and September 2027 are eligible for Treasury Junior Analyst positions.
- Junior Analysts are granted a one-year term that is renewable for a maximum of one additional year, resulting in a total of two years.

Eligibility Requirements for World Bank Treasury Summer 2026 Internship
To align with the program’s goals, we ask that all applicants complete the core qualifying standards listed below. To be considered, applicants must meet the following essential requirements.
1. Be enrolled in the second-to-last year of a four-year college degree program with a demonstrated interest in finance, business, economics, or a related discipline.
2. Must be prepared to graduate with the equivalent of a four-year college degree by December 2026 or September 2027.
3. Must have a strong academic status in their college or university.
4. Must be available full-time for the duration of the internship.
5. You cannot have a concurrent employment contract or internship.
Any candidate discovered to have falsified their application may be disqualified or terminated.

Evaluation Process
All completed applications submitted on time through the application portal will be reviewed by the recruitment committee. Successful applicants may be asked to complete a remote test. A select few will be invited to interview with the committee. All applicants will be notified of the result by December.
