About Sefara
At Sefara, we work to address the difficulties that are associated with the procure-to-pay procedures in Nigeria.
Purchase order development, approval workflows, and supplier invoicing are all streamlined thanks to our software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform, which connects purchasing with payment workflows.
Businesses are able to handle their procurement and payment operations more efficiently and accurately as a result of this simplification, which minimizes the amount of time and manual work that is required.
Job Role
We’re seeking a backend Software Engineer who’s excited about shaping the core of our platform. While full-stack skills are a plus, your expertise will primarily lie in backend development, infrastructure, database design, and optimizing interactions with LLMs.

- Deep interest or expertise with Large Language Models (LLMs) such as ChatGPT and Anthropic, with the ability to articulate their benefits, drawbacks, and ideal use cases.
- Critical thinker interested in addressing complex AI challenges, notably those relating to output quality and hallucinations.
- Passion for lifelong learning.
- The majority of the job is on developing new features and supporting them in production.

Interview Process:
First call (1 hour): Introduction, followed by a manual coding and/or design inquiry (no AI aid).
Second call (1 hour): Practical coding demonstration (AI-assisted is OK), with questions about coding, design, and databases.
Compensation:
- Approximately ₦960,000 per month (contract basis), paid twice a month (equivalent to $600 per month in USD).
- Note: will need to supply their own computer and have reliable internet access.
- Cursor subscription is given.
Location:
Remote – Nigeria.
- We are situated in Los Angeles, California.
Work Schedule:
- Our schedule is flexible; however, because we work in different time zones, please contact us frequently.
- We do not count hours; instead, we expect you to take ownership of your work, react to messages on time, and complete the essential tasks.
- We go once a day on weekdays. The majority of the work is done on one’s own and with little supervision.
Team:
You will be the second engineer hired and will work alongside two other engineers.
We are currently a team of three.
