Job Description:
The positions provide an opportunity to collaborate with a dynamic and performance-oriented team of specialists to contribute to hydrocarbon maturation and development as part of a matrix organization in onshore and shallow water offshore assets.
You will be a part of the in-country Development & Subsurface community that drives progress by meeting the world’s energy demand now and in the future. It is important to mention that the Development & Subsurface function is committed to achieving industry-leading returns throughout the hydrocarbon lifecycle by establishing competitive delivery, delivering best-in-class subsurface outcomes, and creating end-to-end value.
Specific Accountabilities
- Quality of production technology work involving field development definition, drilling execution, completion, workover, plug and abandonment, decommissioning, and restoration activities.
- Identify and mature short-term oil/gas generation potential while maintaining well integrity compliance.
- Implement well and reservoir management activities to protect or maximize asset production potential and long-term ultimate recovery.
- Ensure timely and coordinated delivery with all other disciplines and stakeholders involved in the team’s efforts, including the Wells team, co-venturers, partners, and regulators.
- Application of relevant (new) technologies, including production technology input for well completion, intervention, and workover activities.
- Preparing and leading the execution of proposals for well and reservoir surveillance, data interpretation, and post-production optimisation operations.
- Providing Design Engineering Practices (DEP) compatible H2S estimates for new wells and all well re-entry activities, including well abandonment.
- Designing a completion strategy for development plans/wells, as well as building and updating integrated production system models for production forecasts.
Job Requirements for Production Technologist at Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC)
- A university degree in engineering or related sciences is required, along with about 5-7 years of experience in the integrated gas and upstream industries.
- Strong technical expertise in core production technologies, risk and uncertainty management, field development and execution, and well and reservoir management.
- Completely versed with industrial technologies, computing, and productivity tools.
- A natural integrator with expertise coordinating/participating in activities and working in big, diverse multidisciplinary teams, as well as strong stakeholder management abilities for interacting with co-venturers, partners, and regulators.
