Job Description Summary
- The Intern will be responsible for receiving basic training in technical support for GE medical equipment, as well as shadowing and observing existing field engineers to learn how equipment is maintained and managed.
- Â This program will last 12 months.
Key responsibilities
Key responsibilities or crucial functions include:
- Technical: Will work and learn from experienced field engineers on various modality in the designated area.
- Electronic/Mechanical: Basic understanding of troubleshooting and technological safety (EHS).
- Customer satisfaction: Daily communication with doctors and technicians on equipment status issues. Acts to ensure the satisfaction of core customers. Assists in account sales visits; trains others as needed; identifies sales possibilities and communicates with the account team.
- Productivity: Provide support for any warranty and PMS contract cost reduction.
- Administration: Responsible for completing all administrative chores on time.
- Installation: Provides support during the basic installation process offshore. Sharing best practices. Maintain effective quality systems and programs that comply with the ISO 9001 standard, according to the GE Service Quality Policy Statement.
Quality Specific Goals:
- Understand and follow the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and any laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position.
- Complete all planned Quality and Compliance training by the specified deadlines.
- Identify and quickly report any customer quality or compliance issues to the Quality Organization.
- Identify and promptly report any personal quality or compliance concerns to the Quality Organization.
- Ensure timely dispatch closing.
- Ensure that all field modification instructions (FMIs) are completed within the specified timeframe.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities by detecting and escalating process and product quality gaps, and delivering solutions as needed.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Qualified for the National Diploma Two (ND2) Cadre at certain Nigerian Ministry of Health-certified Biomedical Schools.
- Expertise in technical analysis.
- Proficient in English.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent work standards and quality.
- Initiative and motivation.
- Plan and organize tasks efficiently.
- Outstanding communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service abilities; handles disagreements gracefully and successfully, influencing rather than directing.
