Job Role
The Marine technician assists operations, maintenance, and logistical activities related to ensuring the safe and efficient operations of marine assets, utilizing their knowledge and experience to give hands-on support and technical skills.
Key Responsibilities for Marine Technician at ExxonMobil
- Use expertise and experience to ensure the safe and effective operation and maintenance of marine assets employed in the corporation’s business, which may include F(P)SOs, tank vessels, offshore support vessels, offshore platforms, marine terminals, and so on.Â
- Â Help to guarantee that marine operations are carried out safely, reliably, and in accordance with applicable rules, regulations, and industry standards.Â
- Help guarantee that SSHE policies and programs protect people, the environment, assets, and reputation.Â
- Assist in maintaining compliance with policies and processes, applicable laws and regulations, industry standards, operating guidelines, and best practices.Â
- May be identified as a watchstander for marine assets such as F(P)SOs, Terminals, and Platforms.Â
- Â Supports onboard drills, training, and emergency response.Â
- Â Support, monitor, and assist with troubleshooting maritime asset operating systems.Â
- Â Support the settlement of marine terminal interface issues.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- OOW (Officers of the watch) certificate; minimum 3 years experience
Preferred Qualifications/ Experience
- Ability to adapt, inventiveness and invention, a thorough grasp and identification of workplace dangers, analytical skills, and courage of conviction. Â
- Ability to exert influence without power and interact well with operations and maintenance organizations. Â
- Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills while working with varied groups; can effectively network inside organizations.
- Technical Knowledge and Equipment Operation: Â
- Previous FSO or FPSO experience is preferred, along with tanker or LNG experience. Managing Marine Systems: Operation and Troubleshooting
- Floating Structure Operations
- Managing liquid transfer operations (cargo, ballast, and fueling).
- Offshore Support Vessels
- SSHE Management and Emergency Response
- Â Terminal Operations
- Â Vessel Administration (Regulation Compliance, Policies, and Procedures)
- Â Vessel Machinery and Equipment: Operation and Troubleshooting.
