Job Role:
The Website and Automation Developer will be in charge of managing, improving, and automating the company’s website and digital platforms to improve user experience, increase operational efficiency, and support business growth. The work will involve ensuring that the website is secure, up to date, and in line with the company’s digital strategy.
Duties / Responsibilities
Specifically, the candidate’s duties will include:
- Manage and keep the company’s website functional, secure, and up to date.
- Implement and manage website automation solutions to speed up tasks including content updates, user interactions, and data collection.
- Work with the marketing team to optimize the website’s SEO, user experience, and lead generation.
- Monitor website performance, analyze traffic, and create reports to discover areas for improvement.
- Troubleshoot and address website issues like outages, bugs, and performance bottlenecks.
- Create and deploy website security procedures to prevent cyber attacks and data breaches.
- Integrate third-party tools and APIs to improve website functionality (such as payment gateways and CRM systems).
- Using Zapier, Python scripts, or other automation platforms, you may automate repetitive processes like data entry, report generation, and customer notifications.
- Train and support internal teams on website management and automation tools.
- To maintain the company’s continued competitiveness, keep up with developing web technologies, automation trends, and best practices.
- Ensure adherence to data protection requirements (e.g., GDPR, NDPR) and industry standards.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science/Higher National Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Web Development, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of three to five years of expertise in website management, web development, or digital automation.
- Proven familiarity with content management systems (such as WordPress, Drupal, and Joomla).
- Experience with automation technologies like Zapier, Integromat, or bespoke scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript).
- Experience with web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Hotjar) and SEO best practices.
- Understanding of web security protocols and techniques (such as SSL, firewalls, and vulnerability scanning).
- Relevant certificates (such as Google Analytics Certification, HubSpot Content Management, or AWS Certified Developer) are advantageous.
Skills
- Excellent technical skills in website construction, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Expertise in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other web development languages.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
