About OSOPADEC
The Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, or OSOPADEC, is a government entity founded in 2001 to oversee the development of oil-producing and impacted areas in Ondo State, Nigeria.
Key responsibilities:
- Infrastructure development entails constructing and maintaining critical infrastructure such as roads, bridges, and schools in oil-producing towns.Â
- Community development refers to the implementation of programs that improve inhabitants’ quality of life, such as healthcare, education, and social welfare activities.Â

The OSOPADEC Scholarship Commission has been tasked with overseeing the socioeconomic well-being of the mandated territories, which include the Ilaje and Esedo local governments.
The Laws of Ondo State House of Assembly formed the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, or OSOPADEC, in 2001 to intervene in the development of Ondo State’s oil producing and impacted areas. The Commission has been tasked with overseeing the socioeconomic welfare of the mandated areas, which include the Ilaje and Esedo Local Government Areas.
Eligibility Criteria For 2024 Ondo State OSOPADEC Bursary Award
If you are interested in this Bursary Award, you must be able to satisfy the below eligibility criteria
- You must be an indigene of either Ilaje and/or Ese-Odo Local Government Areas;
- You must be a full-time students of recognized public/private institutions within the country as at 2023/2024 academic session;
- both undergraduates and postgraduates as well as Law School Students are eligible to apply in so much as their studentship is acknowledged by their school/university authorities; and
- all part-time/sandwich/pre-degree/NTI/diploma students and institutions not accredited by relevant authorities are not qualified for this award.
Online Registration Requirements
All applicants for the 2023/2024 Edition of OSOPADEC Scholarship/Bursary Scheme must possess and upload the following documents in the relevant fields:
a. One recent passport photograph
b. Certificate of Local Government of Origin
c. JAMB Admission Letter
d. School fees receipts for 2023/2024 Academic Session
e. Current valid Student Identity Card (I.D)
Duration and Reward
- N50,000 for undergraduates
- N100,000 for Masters and Postgraduate Diploma students
- N150,000 for PhD students
GENERAL NOTE FOR ALL APPLICANTS
- change of bank will not be entertained after submission of application;
- applicants registration slip must be printed out, signed and stamped by the Dean of Student Affairs/HOD of institutions (as applicable); and,
- a signed slip MUST be uploaded to complete the registration.
