Conclusion

The manufacturing industry in Taraba State is still small compared to some of the other major industrial States in Nigeria, however because of the state’s agricultural potential and other resources as well as the growing investment infrastructure, it has a great manufacturing future potential.

For now, Jalingo is the main location for small and medium scale manufacturing and consists of businesses such as food processing, footwear, aluminum and plastics, building and wood processing industries.

Cassava processing is perhaps, the most promising manufacturing potential of Taraba State. An example of this is TITAKURU Food Processing Limited, where cassava is converted to industrial starch and high fiber flour.

Others include palm oil processing, rice milling, other food processing, footwear and agricultural inputs manufacturing.

More investment and other infrastructure in the manufacturing sector will transform Taraba state’s manufacturing potential.

For now, the best manufacturing potential of Taraba state is concentrated in agricultural processing. Processed food and footwear manufacturing offer the best opportunities.

Given the size of most of the manufacturing companies in the state, many of which are individual owned business, interested persons are encouraged to crosscheck locations, ownership, activities and contact details before relying on company listings for business, employment or investment opportunities.
