Production Officer Fashion RTW Job Description
- Oversee tailors and other workers in the fashion manufacturing section.
- Ensure that all outgoing items fulfill corporate requirements and satisfy customers by maintaining quality at a fair cost.
- Ensure that the product is consistently the best in the market in terms of durability, attractiveness, and cost.
- Oversee manufacturing and reduce unnecessary waste.
- Approve procurement/market shopping lists for finance and procurement.
- Assign designs to tailors and include prices for each outfit on a work sheet. Oversee daily production procedures and ensure they align with the tailors’ price list.
- Document all difficulties and remarks for each outfit produced by each tailor on the assignment sheet.
- Supervise and send samples for fitting, approval, correction, replication, and modifications.
- Supervise the changes
- Supervise line production.
- Coordinate with the quality control officer to ensure that quality control is performed on each piece and the entire production batch.
- Oversee completing.
- Recommend tailored timetable and task deliverables.
- Manage tailors’ task sheets, issue feedback, and calculate tailors’ tasks every day.
- Strive to cut costs and boost productivity across all product lines.
- Create workflow policies that improve speed and efficiency while maintaining product safety and integrity.
- Create mood boards to exhibit to clients; bargain with customers and suppliers.
- Stay up to date with emerging fashion trends as well as general trends in materials, colors, and shapes.
- On a continuous basis, work closely with the sales, purchasing, and production teams to verify that things are suitable for the consumer, market, and price point.
- Understand design from a technical standpoint, such as creating patterns and technical specifications for designs.
- Visit trade exhibitions and manufacturers to source, select, and purchase fabrics, trims, fastenings, and embellishments. ·
- Â Adapt existing designs for mass production.
- Â Prepare launch activities to fit with consumers’ purchasing patterns.
- Â Work with models to test out your creations and wear them on the catwalk at fashion events.Â
- Â Examine fashion trends and predict styles that will appeal to people.
- Â Choose a subject for a collection
- Â Use computer-aided design (CAD) programs to create designs (not required).
- Â Choose fabrics, decorations, colors, or styles for each clothing or accessory.
- Â Collaborate with patternmakers, designers, or team members to develop prototype designs.
- Â Present design ideas to the creative director, or display them at fashion or trade shows.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in fashion merchandising or a similar degree is necessary.
- Requirements include 3–5 years of expertise in the fashion sector and a thorough understanding of garment construction (pattern, fit, and sewing details).
- Must have a solid understanding of the various fabric kinds and how they apply to different products.
- Must be able to design sourcing strategies based on the company’s demographic, purchasing capacity plans, and different product categories, such as garments and accessories.
- Â Must have a complete awareness of social compliance rules for supplier chains to reduce risk to the organization.
- Â Must be able to multitask, organize, work independently, and manage time well.
- Â Must be able to prioritize and maintain high levels of accuracy while performing several jobs in a fast-paced, dynamic setting.
- Â Must be familiar with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and other related software.Â
