Applications are invited for The President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Engineering Mentorship Program 2026. The program is a nationwide capacity building effort by the Federal Ministry of Works.
The programme is to give unemployed graduate engineers and skilled artisans in Nigeria practical field experience, professional mentorship and technical training through active federal infrastructure projects.
The mentorship scheme strives to bridge the gap between classroom knowledge and real-world engineering practice, while developing Nigeria’s engineering workforce.
Selected persons will get monthly stipends, on-the-job training, safety equipment, mentorship by experienced engineers and a certificate following successful completion of the curriculum. Outstanding participants may also be given priority for future government and contractor work.

About the Tinubu Engineering Mentorship Program
The President Tinubu Engineering Mentorship Program is part of a wider plan by the Federal Government to build local engineering expertise and ensure the effective execution of infrastructure projects across Nigeria.
Participants will be attached to ongoing projects of the Federal Ministry of Works, where they will be exposed to structured practical training under the supervision of registered engineers and certified supervisors.
The programme is designed to assist participants gain technical competence, project management skills, awareness of workplace safety and practical construction experience increasingly demanded by employers.
The Ministry has said that the application this time is a last extension especially to hire more qualified skilled craftsmen for the ongoing infrastructure projects across the country.

Available Categories
The programme is divided into two major categories.
1. Graduate Engineers
Eligible engineering graduates may apply under disciplines such as:
- Civil Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Other closely related engineering disciplines.
2. Skilled Artisans
The technical category is open to qualified artisans, including:
- Masons
- Carpenters
- Steel Reinforcement Workers
- Plumbers
- Electrical Technicians
- Welders and Fabricators
- Other construction-related trades with verifiable experience.
Eligibility Requirements for Graduate Engineers
Applicants under the Graduate Engineer category must:
- Be Nigerian citizens.
- Be between 18 and 35 years of age.
- Hold a Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Have completed NYSC or possess an exemption or exclusion certificate.
- Be unemployed.
- Not currently be employed in government service or full-time private employment.
- Be willing to work in any Local Government Area where Federal Ministry of Works projects are located.
- Possess basic computer literacy.
- Be willing to participate fully in field training and mentorship activities.
Eligibility Requirements for Skilled Artisans
Applicants applying as artisans should:
- Be Nigerian citizens.
- Possess recognized vocational training, trade test certificates, or verifiable practical experience.
- Be unemployed.
- Be physically fit for construction-related work.
- Be willing to undergo additional safety training and supervised field attachments.
- Demonstrate commitment to completing the mentorship programme.
