Job Description

Procept Africa is looking for a Chartered Accountant to oversee all financial activities, including fixed payments, variable expenses, bank deposits, and budgets.

The ideal candidate’s tasks will involve auditing financial documentation and procedures, reconciling bank statements, and computing tax payments and returns. To be effective in this capacity, you should have previous bookkeeping knowledge and an eye for numerical errors.

Finally, you will give us precise quantitative information about our company’s financial status, liquidity, and cash flows, while ensuring that we comply with all tax requirements.

Responsibilities of Chartered Accountant at Procept Africa

  • Manage all accounting transactions.
  • Prepare budget forecasts.
  • Publish financial statements on schedule.
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.
  • Reconcile the accounts payable and receivable.
  • Maintain timely bank payments.
  • Calculate taxes and prepare returns.
  • Maintain balance sheets and profit/loss statements.
  • Provide an update on the company’s financial health and liquidity.
  • Examine financial transactions and documents.
  • Maintain financial data confidentiality and perform database backups as appropriate.
  • Comply with all financial policies and requirements.

Requirements and Talents

  • BSc in Accounting, Finance, or a related degree.
  • Professional membership in a relevant accounting body (ICAN, ACCA, etc.).
  • Minimum work experience of two years from the date of professional qualifying as a Chartered Accountant.
  • Experience in foreign exchange operations.
  • Excellent understanding of accounting standards and procedures, particularly IFRS.
  • Practical familiarity with QuickBooks accounting software.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
  • Experience with general ledger tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical abilities.
