Job Description:
Assist the Miller in overseeing milling operations on a shift basis to ensure that the requisite milling KPIs, product quality, and volume production are met at the best possible cost.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in mill optimization to ensure balanced stock distribution, target extraction, and all quality indicators.
- Check all quality/standard check points to confirm compliance with set standards, and report any odd sounds, leaks, or inappropriate machine functions that are observed.
- Ensure that wheat is properly gritted and conditioned for production.
- Coordinate production data capture to increase productivity and data quality.
- Monitor and assure free material movement or flow from raw wheat bins to mills in order to maintain continuous production.
- Coordinate basic autonomous production maintenance to maximize machine efficiency.
- Assist the millers in overseeing industrial workers to meet unit, functional, and organizational goals.
- Implement standard operating procedures for all work processes to ensure efficient and safe execution.
Required Skills and Competency
- Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
- Experienced in running and maintaining milling machinery.
- Have great analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work efficiently in a team setting.
- Knowledgeable about safety practices, and adheres to strict safety rules and regulations during the milling process.
Qualification
- First Degree in Engineering/Diploma in Milling Technology.
- NABIM Milling Course, African Milling School Course & IGP.
Experience
- 3 years cognate experience.
