Job Role
Flutterwave is currently seeking an exceptional associate to join our team and assume a multifaceted position in Chargeback and Refunds.
The successful applicant will be accountable for the processing of chargebacks and refund inquiries, as well as the assurance of regulatory compliance.
This position necessitates the capacity to make critical decisions under duress, as well as high levels of attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities for Associate, Chargeback & Refunds
Chargeback and Refunds Processing:
- To recover funds, process and dispute chargebacks and refund inquiries. Communicate with external partners and make key judgments based on limited information.
- Track and deliver chargeback and refund statistics to the Finance Team.
Risk Management and Compliance:
- Enforce strong risk and operational controls to achieve satisfactory audit outcomes.
- Keep track of fraud incidence reports and related analyses.
Reporting and Communication:
- Report on fraudulent vs. service-related chargebacks, refunds, actions taken, and results obtained.
- Communicate with payment processors/partners regarding external partner queries.
Data Management and Analysis:
- Compile data from multiple databases to create the team’s monthly chargeback report.
- Validate chargeback reports with both internal and external systems.
Collaboration and Support:
- Collaborate with peers from the Risk Unit, Finance Unit, and merchant business support to enable accounting functions relating to Chargebacks and refunds.
Required competency and skillset
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a similar discipline.
- 2-4 years of experience with chargeback processing or a related field.
- Excellent analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and organization.
- Strong Excel skills, including the ability to handle huge volumes of data and generate detailed reports.
- Ability to adjust fast and multitask.
- Client Engagement Experience
- Ability to work in a team and manage projects
