Job Description
The Cold-room Technician will be responsible for the correct working, safety and effectiveness of the refrigeration system in the cold rooms of the company’s facilities.
The purpose of this function is to ensure the best possible temperature conditions, avoid system failures and help to provide a comfortable and safe atmosphere for the business to operate in. You will play a key role in upholding food quality and facilitating the flawless functioning of restaurant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- R&A System Maintenance:
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance of coldroom refrigeration systems.
- Ensure proper refrigerant levels, clean coils, and lubricate moving parts as necessary.
- Repairs and Troubleshooting:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot coldroom system malfunctions, identifying causes of issues.
- Repair or replace faulty components, such as compressors, fans, motors, and sensors.
- Preventive Maintenance:
- Execute preventive maintenance schedules for coldroom systems to prevent breakdowns.
- Conduct regular servicing, filter replacements, and part inspections.
- Energy Efficiency:
- Monitor energy consumption patterns of coldroom systems and identify opportunities for optimization.
- Implement energy-efficient practices to reduce operational costs.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to safety standards, regulations, and guidelines while performing maintenance tasks.
- Ensure that coldroom systems meet safety and environmental requirements.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and preventive tasks.
- Generate detailed reports outlining coldroom system conditions, completed tasks, and recommendations.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience in coldroom maintenance or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of coldroom systems, refrigerant handling, and safety protocols.
- Proficiency in using tools and equipment for maintenance tasks.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
