Purpose of the Job
Responsible for ensuring that Pool Vehicles, loaders, and heavy equipment tyres are maintained in safe conditions by conducting routine checks and scheduling needed repairs.
Responsibilities
- Receives and executes vulcanizing tasks according to the instructions of his supervisor.
- Provides feedback on the status of the task to the his supervisor.
- Makes requisitions and takes delivery of materials and spare parts used for vulcanizing activities.
- Implements measures to avoid damage to vulcanizing material.
- To carry out daily / periodical / preventive / breakdown maintenance with respect to tyres of vehicles in accordance with manufacturer’s guidelines / recommendations / safe operating procedures to ensure optimum utilization and availability.
- Visual inspect vehicles and equipment.
- Seal punctures in tubeless tires.
- Wheel balancing and Alignment.
- To maintain both daily check sheet & tyre consumption reports according to supervisor’s requirements.
- To ensure proper housekeeping during and after completion of jobs.
- Proper handling of tools provided them & to ensure proper usage.
- Should have a valid driver’s license; should know the operation of forklift and tyre handling devices.
- To suggest and implement the recent/latest maintenance practices with regards to tyres.
Requirements
- Candidates should possess an SSCE / GCE / NECO / NABTEC qualification with at least 5 years work experience.
- Knowledge of proper use of equipment and materials to perform his duties.
- Trade test-1, 2 & 3 in vulcanizing in heavy – duty equipment maintenance.
- Knowledge of repair and maintenance of LMV & HEMM tyres.
Salary and Benefits
- N130,000 monthly.
- Leave allowance.
- HMO & Pension.
