Procept Africa is in search of a skilled and dedicated Core Network Engineer, who will be tasked with ensuring the availability, stability, and seamless operation of the Bank’s core network.
This role involves planning and designing network architectures to achieve these objectives, as well as implementing network projects aimed at fostering growth and stability across all Data Centers owned by the Bank.

Job Description
- Maintain and manage key networks and computing environments.
- Monitor the performance of core and important network devices on a daily basis.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and fix hardware, software, and other network incidents/problems in all data centers operated by the bank (primary DC, disaster recovery DC, and cloud DCs).
- Make regular checks on network hardware and software.
- Create, set up, and test networking software, computer hardware, and operating system software.
- Diagnose and resolve network issues on the Core (data center, extranet, and Internet parts) network.
- Create accurate network diagrams for design documentation and system planning.
- Manage and plan IP addresses across all network segments.
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure that the core network infrastructure integrates seamlessly with other systems and applications.
- Keep up with the latest networking technology trends and advancements to ensure that the organization’s basic structure remains current and capable of supporting future growth and expansion.
Qualifications for Core Network Engineer at Procept Africa
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively, with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a similar profession.
- Cisco Certified Network Associate, Routing and Switching
- Mandatory qualifications are Cisco Certified Network Professional Enterprise, Azure Network Engineer Associate, and F5 Networks Certified Technology Specialist.
- Cisco Certified Network Professional Data Center, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS and Certified Advanced Networking are an added benefit.
- Two or more years of experience in network administration or a related subject.
