Role & Responsibilities of Corporate Finance Analyst  at Oando Plc

  • Collaborate with the Corporate Finance Manager to undertake thorough financial analysis to evaluate firm performance, including profitability, cost structures, and revenue streams.
  • Maintain comprehensive financial reports and dashboards for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and deliver actionable information to senior management.
  • Contribute to the creation of financial statements, assuring accuracy and conformity with accounting regulatory standards.
  • Support the annual budgeting process.
  • Create rolling predictions to reflect changing market conditions and corporate requirements.
  • Analyze budget-to-actual deviations and offer explanations and recommendations for corrective action.
  • Create and manage complicated financial models for assessing business scenarios, investment opportunities, and strategic objectives.
  • Provide financial guidance and analysis for a variety of strategic business investments and decisions, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and other collaborations.
  • Market research, competition analysis, and scenario planning can all help to support strategic planning processes.
  • Assess possible investment prospects using ROI, NPV, IRR, and other measures.
  • Make recommendations for maximizing capital allocation and resource use.
  • Track and report on historical investment performance, maintain alignment with strategy goals, and provide actionable insights to top leadership.
  • Monitor financial risks, including market, credit, and operational risks, and provide mitigation solutions.
  • Support external auditing and regulatory reporting obligations.
  • Create and deliver presentations for senior executives, board members, and external stakeholders.
  • Support other departments and business divisions in making educated corporate finance decisions.

Job Specification

  • A bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, accounting, or a similar discipline from a reputable institution is required; an MSc/MBA degree is preferred.
  • Professional certifications like CFA and ACCA are required.
  • 3–5 years of relevant job experience in corporate finance, investment banking, private equity, financial planning and analysis.
  • Experience in the upstream oil and gas industry will be an added plus.
  • sophisticated knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling, pivot tables, and sophisticated calculations.
  • Experience with financial reporting platforms like SAP, Hyperion, and Oracle.
  • Proficiency with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of financial principles, such as valuation methods, capital budgeting, and cost accounting.
