Nigerian Air Force BMTC 47/2026 Recruitment: Apply Now for NAF Airmen/Airwomen 2026

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) invites applications for the Basic Military Training Course (BMTC) 47/2026 from suitably qualified Nigerians desirous of military service as Airmen and Airwomen.

Applications are invited from applicants in two categories: Tradesmen/Women and Non-Tradesmen/Women. The application is absolutely free and will commence on the NAF website on 3rd September and end on 14th October 2026.

Prospective applicants are advised to read the requirements and guidelines and ensure they meet them before applying.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

  • BMTC 47/2026 should not be confused with Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC), which is the other pathway for graduate officers to join the NAF.
  • The NAF cautions prospective applicants not to pay any amount of money to anyone claiming to assist in the recruitment to the NAF.
  • Only information published on the NAF official websites should be considered authentic.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

General Requirements (All Applicants)

All applicants must meet the following conditions:

HeightMale: Minimum 1.66 metres; Female: Minimum 1.63 metres
FitnessMust be medically, physically, and psychologically fit, and meet NAF medical and employment standards
Criminal RecordMust have no prior criminal convictions
Marital StatusMust be single (per previous NAF recruitment standards)
NINA valid National Identification Number (NIN) is typically required

Tradesmen/Women – Requirements

Applicants seeking enlistment as Tradesmen/Women must meet the following criteria:

Educational QualificationMust possess at least five credits, including Mathematics and English Language, in not more than two sittings in WAEC, NECO, GCE, NABTEB, or NBAIS
ND/NCE HoldersMust have obtained certificates from accredited institutions and possess at least Lower Credit
Trade TestApplicants for driving and other trades requiring a Trade Test must possess the relevant Trade Test certificate and meet applicable SSCE requirements
DriversMust possess a valid driving licence
Sportsmen/WomenMust present evidence of professional sporting experience, including certificates and medals

Non-Tradesmen/Women – Requirements

Applicants seeking enlistment as Non-Tradesmen/Women must meet the following criteria:

HOW TO APPLY

Interested and qualified applicants are to follow these steps:

  1. Visit the Official NAF Recruitment Portal:
    Navigate to https://nafrecruitment.airforce.mil.ng
  2. Select the Recruitment Exercise:
    Choose the BMTC 47/2026 Recruitment Exercise
  3. Read the Guidelines:
    Carefully study the recruitment guidelines and confirm that you meet all eligibility requirements
  4. Complete the Application Form:
    Fill in the online application form with the required personal, educational, and other relevant information
  5. Review and Submit:
    Review all information provided to ensure accuracy before submitting
  6. Print Required Documents:
    After successful submission, print out the following documents:
    • Acknowledgment Form
    • Parent/Guardian Consent Form
    • Local Government Area Attestation Form

LGA ATTESTATION FORM – GUIDELINES

The Local Government Area Attestation Form must be signed by one of the following authorized officials from the applicant’s state of origin:

  • A military officer not below the rank of Wing Commander in the Nigerian Air Force, or equivalent rank in the Nigerian Army or Navy
  • A police officer of the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) or above
  • A substantive Local Government Chairman or Secretary
  • A Magistrate from the applicant’s state of origin

The attestation form must be accompanied by:

  • The applicant’s passport photograph
  • A photocopy of the signatory’s driver’s licence, National Identity Card, or international passport

Note: Applicants who fail to successfully complete their online applications will not be able to generate the required forms.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER APPLICATION?

  • Zonal General Aptitude Test: Successful applicants will be invited to a Zonal General Aptitude Test. The date will be communicated through the recruitment portal.
  • Selection Interview: Only candidates who are successful at the aptitude test stage will subsequently be invited for the selection interview.
  • All further information concerning shortlisting, aptitude tests, interviews, and other stages will be communicated through official NAF channels.
