Various publications that were published online and discussed the process of hiring for the Nigeria Immigration Service have been disowned by the Civil Defense, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board.

This information was provided by Ja’afaru Ahmed, the Secretary of the board, in a statement that was released on Monday 15th July in Abuja.

Ahmed responded that the board was only now doing recruitment in the Federal Fire Service, contrary to what was reported in online publications. He also stated that the board was not doing any recruitment with NIS.

“For the avoidance of doubt, we wish to inform the general public that the board is currently carrying out a recruitment process in the FFS only.”

“It will commence the next stage of the exercise in August and will conclude the same before the end of September,” Ja’afaru said.

FG Announced Recruitment For Immigration Service And Federal Fire Service

You may recall that on Sunday 14th July, the Federal Government announced that the next stage of the recruitment exercise for the Federal Fire Service and the Nigeria Immigration Service would begin in August when it was announced.

The recruitment exercise, which was scheduled to come to an end on June 15, 2024, will now stop before the end of September, according to a statement issued by Ahmed

According to Ahmed: “The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board wishes to inform the general public that it will commence the next stage of the recruitment exercise in August, and will conclude the exercise before the end of September 2024.”

He made the announcement that all of the candidates who had been shortlisted will be properly informed of the next stage of the recruitment process through the contact information that they had provided.

The Secretary, on the other hand, expressed regret that the exercise could not be finished as originally planned because of personnel audits that were conducted by Services under the Board.

According to him “The board wishes to apologise for its inability to complete the process by 15th June 2024, as earlier intended.  This is due to a nationwide manpower audit exercise carried out in the Nigerian Correctional Service, Nigeria Immigration Service, Federal Fire Service, and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, which was just recently concluded”.

“All shortlisted candidates will be duly notified of the next stage through their phone numbers and email addresses.”
