About EKEDC
The National Electric Power Authority (NEPA) was abolished in March 2005 when the Energy Power Sector Reform Act (EPSRA) went into effect. In the sector, power generation, transmission, and distribution—all covered under NEPA—were divided into distinct commercial operations.
Eleven businesses, including Eko Disco, came from the distribution line with permits to provide electricity to customers. But in 2013, when power generation and distribution were further privatized, giving investors greater or complete ownership, these businesses were separated from the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN).
Details of the 2025 EKEDC Graduate Training Programme
Our special Graduate Training Program (Eko Distribution Training Programme-EDTP) is a six-month intensive training program created to cultivate a pool of domestic talent; this new generation of leaders and talent will propel our continuous transformation into Africa’s premier utility focused on its customers.
Through a tailored program that includes in-class meetings with our internal faculty and technical partners, fieldwork, visits to our substations, and rotation across important departments within the company, it provides candidates with a wide range of technical and non-technical coursework.
During this rotation, candidates will collaborate with team members and have the chance to become acquainted with the company’s values.
Requirements for the EKEDC Graduate Training Programme
All applicants must satisfy the following requirements to be considered.
- possess a first degree in computer science, economics, statistics, accounting, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a similar field.Â
- Â possess a second-class lower degree combined with a master’s degree in a related field, or at least a second-class upper degree from an accredited university.
- Prior to starting this program, the NYSC scheme must have been finished.Â
- Having a professional qualification will be beneficial.Â
- Have 0–3 years of relevant work experience under your belt.
