About Oil and Gas Technical Apprentice Programme OGTAP
The Oil and Gas Technical Apprenticeship Programme is divided into two parts. As an apprentice, you will attend college and work on-site for a sponsored company, where you will receive skilled on-the-job training.
You will attend one of our appointed colleges for 21 months and will obtain the following qualifications:
- SVQ Level 2 (Performing Engineering Operations)
- National Certificate (Multidiscipline)
- Higher National Certificate (discipline-specific).
- Process Operations Hydrocarbons Level 1
After successfully completing the college phase, you will be coached by experienced professionals while learning industry-specific skills and an SVQ Level 3 in your discipline.
Field of Study for Oil and Gas Technical Apprentice Programme OGTAP
The Oil and Gas Technical Apprentice Programme is offered in four key disciplines:
- Electrical Maintenance
- Mechanical Maintenance
- Process Operations
- Instrumentation and Control Maintenance
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the programme, all applicants must be residents of the United Kingdom or prepared to relocate there for the duration of the course and training.Foreign citizens will receive travel assistance, visas, and work permits if their applications are successful.
Applicants must have a valid National Identity Number (NIN) and be between the ages of 16 and 35 as of May in the year they apply.
To apply, you must have received or are working toward the following grades or equivalents, depending on whether you studied in Nigeria, England, Wales, Northern Ireland, or Scotland.
Nigeria requires a credit grade C in the following subjects at the Ordinary Level (O’ Level) from WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, or NBAIS, whether external (GCE) or internal.

In the first instance, you will be asked to fill out a short scenario-based questionnaire called Precise Fit.
Stage 2: Online Application form

Stage 3: Aptitude Test
If your application is approved and you match the qualifying requirements, you will be emailed a link to take online aptitude tests at home.
