Job Role
- The Commercial Relationship Management Officer is a member of the sales team who builds and maintains customer relationships, develops, exploits, and closes sales opportunities, and attracts prospective commercial and retail customers.
- They also monitor the competition to see what strategies are being used to stay ahead.
Job Responsibilities
Sales management:
- Execute a branch commercial sales plan that is tailored to local market conditions in order to meet sales targets. This includes product expertise, cross-selling, and staying up to date on changes and developments in the local market/area to maximize sales prospects.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, as well as the ability to form and sustain connections.
- Focus on driving client acquisition and volume growth in the Bank’s commercial division by opening various sorts of accounts.
- To provide feedback to the sales team and product management in market scenarios about new product/existing product development/upgrade for developing small and medium-sized businesses and individuals in our marketing environment.
- Manages and maintains existing commercial business connections while seeking new accounts through sales.
- Providing sales presentations to a variety of prospective consumers and engaging in frequent storm
- Be actively involved in creating and maintaining a pleasant sales atmosphere by educating customers about the bank’s products and services.
- Effectively leverage service recovery into business possibilities while maintaining client loyalty.
- Visiting clients and prospects to assess requirements or market products and services.
- Coordinating sales activities and marketing programs
Risk management:
- Ability to determine an acceptable amount of lending risk in accordance with the bank’s risk appetite statement and optimize profit from the transaction.
- Comply with the Bank’s complaint resolution process to fix the issue, maintain our high service standards, and reduce future risks and losses.
- Minimize risks by adhering to KYC compliance as per bank policies and procedures in all of your operations to reduce fraud losses.
- Discuss loan terms and conditions, as well as collateral risk assessments, to verify that the bank’s policies and procedures are followed.
- Ensure that every paperwork in the assigned portfolio is valid and comprehensive.
- Following the Bank’s rules and procedures
Financial management:
- Extract and analyze financial statements, cash flow predictions, and other complex financial reports to make correct assessments.
- Prequalify funding requests by assessing their financial state and risk within the context of the bank’s credit culture as well as current economic and industry trends.
- Analyze the financial statements of a new customer and all loan paperwork.
- Contributes to the growth of deposits, loans, and overdrafts, hence increasing the branch’s profitability.
- Draft and support Branch Managers in completing deposit funding and credit proposal documents.
- Negotiating all contracts with prospective consumers.
- Answering customer questions regarding loan terms, items, prices, and availability
Customer service:
- Deliver and maintain customer service standards to improve service delivery.
- Log client complaints in the customer inquiry register, identifying the fundamental causes and resolving them at the source to prevent recurrence.
- Provide relevant products and services through the most appropriate channel to guarantee that consumers’ demands are addressed.
- Provide a consistent yet differentiated customer experience by doing a comprehensive needs analysis and consultation with important clients in portfolio management, as well as taking ownership of all customer service concerns.
- Consistent and frequent communication with clients, offering comprehensive, succinct portfolio valuations and direction.
- Serves as a problem solver for the client, assisting them in identifying investment criteria and recognizing and addressing concerns that occur as the consultation progresses toward decision.
- Complies with the required protocols and procedures that are expected of all employees who are in regular touch with clients.

- Handles consumer concerns and resolves issues.
- Engaging clients with banking products and services.
- Approach and sign up new clients.
People management:
- Collaborate with colleagues at the branch to provide excellent support and service delivery.

Requirements for Commercial Relationship Management Officer at Wema Bank Plc
QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS
- Education: Minimum of First Degree in Any Discipline. Additional Qualification will be an Added Advantage
- Specialized knowledge: Minimum of 5 – 8 years cognate experience
- Professional Certification: CIBN
- Experience: Sales and Marketing
- Digitally Savvy
- Superb interpersonal skills.
