Position Overview

To achieve maximum performance within assigned period by putting in your best to ensure that targets are met and required reports are made on time.

To make sure Gen-sets wired are done in accordance with company standard.

Responsibilities

  • To be knowledgeable in both Mechanical and Electrical aspects of the job to be able to test the gen-set perfectly.
  • Design, develop, test and supervise assembling of electrical components on gen-sets, machines and other related jobs.
  • To ensure that the loading machine is in good condition, clean and working perfectly.
  • Troubleshooting of Electrical devices and resolving Electrical faults.
  • Positioning of the load bank near the control panel to enable easy reading and bank cable should be properly tightened on the control panel and the load bank.
  • To ensure all load bank operators have knowledge about load tests of all gen-set capacity.
  • To ensure at all times that Diesel tanks and batteries are properly cleaned before switching on the equipment.
  • To ensure all the parts of the gen. set are properly tightened and availability of Oil/ water as required.
  • Proper checks (oil safety, water safety, water level etc.) should be carried out after starting the gen-set and before loading.
  • Check for any abnormal noise from any part of the gen-set or leakages of oil, water, and diesel or air before loading the gen-set.
  • To check the model controller reading (voltage, oil pressure, water temperature, battery, battery volt etc.).
  • To stop the gen-set if any abnormalities are noticed in the itemized accountabilities above.
  • After loading the gen-set, hand over the gen-set to the next stage without any scratch or dent.

Requirements

  • Certificate of Artisanship / City and Guild Craft certificate, OND, HND, B. Sc Degree in Electrical Engineering field.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Gen-Sets Production.
  • Good years’ of experience in panels & synchronization, installation and maintenance of generator sets.
