About English Language Language Assistant in France At ADELE
In France, English language aides are allocated to schools (primary and secondary).
The assistant’s duty is to help students enhance their communication abilities, particularly oral communication, as well as to broaden their knowledge of a new civilization and society.
It generally intervenes to support the work of modern language teachers in schools and/or educational establishments. He can interfere in the entire class in front of the teacher or take small groups of pupils privately.
The language assistant holds the position of non-permanent State agent. He works twelve hours per week. The contract is for 7 months (6 months for German assistants), from October 1 to April 30 (March 31 for German helpers).
Application Requirements
To teach Eng;lish language in France,
- applicants must be native speakers of the desired language (German, English, Arabic, Chinese, Spanish, Hebrew, Italian, sign language, Dutch, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Czech, or Turkish),Â
- have completed secondary and higher education in their home country, be between 20 and 35 years old as of 12/31/2025Â
- be regularly enrolled in a university. Some partner countries and institutions are willing to tolerate different administrative statuses.Â
- Candidates must have a diploma equivalent to the second year of the license course (L2) at the time of application and be aware of the special restrictions of their place of residence.
- have a strong understanding of the French language (B1 on the Common European Framework of References for Languages scale)
Benefits of the program
The monthly salary for this language assistant program is fixed at €1,036 gross before deducting numerous mandatory deductions (social security, etc.), so the net salary is expected to be around €800 to €813.
