Job Description

The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) is looking for qualified individuals to fill the position of Field Worker III in the headquarters of the Institute which is located in Ibadan.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate mechanical planters and collect trial results.
  • Assist in determining soil nutrient levels as well as analyzing soil composition, fertility, and structure.
  • Assist in testing and researching land to determine its suitability for a specific use.
  • Operate complex scientific instruments such as a pH meter, seed counter, and so on.
  • Assist with the setup of laboratory and field testing equipment, as well as conducting experiments to improve plant quality and yields.
  • Perform any additional job-related tasks that may be assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

QUALIFICATION:   

The candidate must have an O’level and a minimum of three years of experience working in a similar capacity within a well-structured environment.

COMPETENCIES:

An ideal candidate must:

  • Have effective communication skills.
  • Capable of diagnosing equipment faults.
