If you are searching for the full list of polytechnics in Ebonyi State in 2026, there are currently two institutions to know about: Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic, Unwana, which is federally owned, and Savanah Institute of Technology, Abakaliki, which is privately owned.
Currently, no state owned polytechnic can be found in Ebonyi State in the major official and NBTE based directories that have been examined for this update.
The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) is the Nigerian regulatory body for the supervision of technical and vocational education and training institutions.
NBTE keeps a list of categories of approved Institutions comprising Federal Polytechnics, State Polytechnics, Private Polytechnics, and other institutions of technical education.
For students that intend to study in Ebonyi State, the ownership of the institution can impact the admission procedures, fees, and the academic programmes that the institution offers. Therefore, the distinction between Federal, State and Private institutions is necessary.
