Job Description
- As Manager, Technical Operations, you will guarantee that network quality standards and service promises are met by effective monitoring and coordination of regional technical staff throughout the allocated territory.Â
- Also, serve as the principal liaison with management for technical and engineering deliverables in the region.
Key Roles & Responsibilities for Manager, Regional Technical Operations at IHS Towers
Operations
- Manage and manage relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners in your allocated region.
- Â Show a deep understanding of Operations & Maintenance (O&M) duties and regional targets. Motivate team members to complete such duties and goals.
- Communicate essential management information and feedback to Field Operations Team Leaders, Field Service Engineers, Technicians, and Contractors.
- Monitor network asset management across regions and initiate consequence management when there is evidence of mismanagement.Â
- Review the necessity for Capex replacement and initiate the replacement request procedure.
-  Ensure that all reports (statistical and register) are correct and available when due. • Contribute to the regional budget.
- Â Notify Service Maintenance Contractors (SMCs) of places where security must be deployed, and keep Quality Auditors (QAs) aware of security deployments as they occur.
- Â Ensure an adequate supply of diesel to sites to avoid downtime. Also, discuss diesel requirements to the Associate Director of Operations.
- Â Ensure SMCs conduct Site Readiness Audits and escalate issues to the Regional Project Coordinator for resolution.
- Â Compile daily Decommissioned Asset Checklists and confirm with Field Service Engineers before sending to the Project Coordinator.
- Â Fill out Customer Upgrade Request Forms (CURFs) and share them with Regional QAs to ensure all CURF requirements are met.
- Â Manage and evaluate the performance of Field Operations Team Leaders based on established Key Result Areas (KRAs). Identify training needs and serve as a mentor to subordinates.
-  Conduct weekly governance meetings and engagements. • Ensure that necessary tools of the trade are available to team members and used properly and efficiently.
- Â Track the status of all O&M deliverables in the region and offer timely input to the Associate Director, Operations to improve decision-making.Â
- Proactively convey O&M status, challenges, and risks to management.
- Â Share responsibility for ensuring overall regional compliance with policies, procedures, and techniques.
- Â Conduct monthly status meetings with all stakeholders to ensure that all agreed-upon actions, needs, and requirements are met.
- Â Ensure the smooth and timely integration of new network elements into the operating network.
- Â Manage and guarantee compliance with quality processes and systems.
- Â Ensure that all commercial duties, such as supply chain invoicing and project execution, are promptly addressed across all control points in the region.

- Â Prepare and submit reports to the Associate Director of Operations on all regional operations issues.

Qualifications for Manager, Regional Technical Operations at IHS Towers
- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or any other related field.
- Professional certifications such as CCNA or PMP will provide an advantage.
- Â +Ten years of relevant experience in telecom operations and maintenance.
